Tiamat unfortunately once again came from a very sad story of owners just not knowing the first thing about reptiles. Apparently she was owned by a man who had her dumped off by an old roommate. The man did his best to care for her not knowing the first thing about lizards. She had no UV lamp, and was feed purely on dog food for her entirety with him before she was handed in.
Sadly she came in with severe Metabolic Bone Disease as well as severe permanent liver damage due to her previous miss-care. While she has recovered from her MBD entirely, and is miraculously alright even with her severe deformities from it, she will not recover from her liver damage. As such, her life will sadly not be the 20+ years it could normally be had she been taken care of properly, but I will be happy to give her a healthy laid back home for the rest of her life.
Regardless of all of this, Tiamat is a bright and intelligent lizard. She's alert and absolutely loves to run around my apartment fucking things up lmfao. I take her out to walk and run around every day, doing my best to keep her mentally stimulated. She's completely hand tame and has taken to falling asleep either in my arms or on my back when she's done running around. Her favorite past times are eating ungodly amounts of crickets, running and trying to hide in places impossibly to small for her, and sleeping on my feet in the shower.
Long story short, she's my new rescue puppy and she is the best puppy ever period.
